Family Phonics Center

This is a great game that allows students to have some hands on learning. 

 

Materials: 

-Tin (tupperware, bucket, bag, etc.)

-Small objects from around the house (hat, toy dog, barbie shoe, etc.)

-Notecards 

-Pen 

 

Directions: 

1. For each object found, write out a notecard that has a word that rhymes with the object

2. Place the cards and the objects in the tin 

3. Have child match up the object to the notecard 

4. You can do as many or as little as you would like 

5. You could also do this with printed out pictures from the computer

6. For older students you can include synonyms, etc.
